Biography

A Timeless Sound

Velvet Sax (Sax Player Cheshire) is an experienced tenor saxophonist, with an extensive repetoire and a very individual style. With her two decades of experience, including a Diploma in Jazz Theory & Musicianship at the Open College in Manchester, this Knutsford based Saxophonist is equally at home performing live and also in the studio for well known acts. Velvet Sax (Sax Player Cheshire) has also toured with orchestras and ensembles over the years, and has honed and polished her delightful solo act (with backing track accompaniments) for over a decade.

Performing across a wide genre of music which includes Classical, Pop, Funk, World  Music, Cafe Del Mar Chillout with a strong preference for Jazz and Swing, Velvet Sax has also recorded for UK Radio and performed live on stage with famous DJ’s, (including at the Ministry of Sound) and established acts such as The Bodyrockers and Angie Brown.

Her influences are Stan Getz, Lester Young, Sonny Stitt and Courtney Pine, and she is available for all events including Corporate/Black Tie Events, Gala Nights and Weddings where she will create a sophisticated ambience through dinner.

Performance Timings:  2 x 45 minute sets as standard, or to suit the occasion
Interval Music?: Yes on an iPod, (inclusive)
Arrival/Setup: Arrival 60 minutes before performance. Setup takes up to 30 minutes
PA/Lighting: Velvet Sax (Sax Player Cheshire) brings PA and backing tracks (lighting can be hired if required)
